NETA joins forces with PEA to increase the convenience of car charging

Electricity at PEA VOLTA stations nationwide continues to build confidence for Thai customers and prepare before the launch of the NETA V, a 100% electric vehicle.

Bangkok, August 1, 2022 - NETA Auto (Thailand) Co., Ltd. continues to build confidence among Thai customers prior to the official launch of NETA V, a 100% electric vehicle, in Thailand. NETA has collaborated with the Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) as the provider of the charging station network and the developer of the PEA VOLTA application to provide convenient spots to charge NETA V electric vehicles with more than 263 PEA VOLTA stations, covering 75 provinces in Thailand by 2023.

Mr. Alex Bao Zhuangfei, General Manager of Neta Auto (Thailand) Co., Ltd. explained that “As we aim to officially launch NETA V, the first 100% electric vehicle, to Thai market on August 24th we need to give customers peace of mind. Recently, we have signed a Memorandum of Understanding between Neta Auto (Thailand) Co., Ltd., and the Provincial Electricity Authority on ‘INNOVATION DEVELOPMENT FOR ELECTRIC VEHICLE USE IN THAILAND’ to accelerate the development of electric vehicle charging stations in Thailand to be safer, more efficient, and more convenient as well as strengthen the electric vehicle ecosystem to support electric vehicle users in Thailand.”

The Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) is committed to developing various services to make electric vehicle users’ life easier. PEA recently launched the AUTOCHARGE features which enables drivers who use the PEA VOLTA application to charge their vehicles more easily. This feature helps reduce processes at the charging stations, making vehicle charging quick and easy. The AUTOCHARGE feature is currently available at designated PEA VOLTA stations while PEA conducting extensive research to make AUTOCHARGE feature supports other charging systems in Thailand. PEA has established measures to support the government's policy to drive electric vehicle ecosystem in Thailand including charging station expansion plan to provide convenient charging spots and build confidence among electric vehicle users. PEA aims to install a fast-charging station every 100 kilometers on the main routes while 73 stations are currently available in 42 provinces. By 2023, PEA aims to open a total of 263 charging stations on the main and secondary roads including main tourist attractions covering 75 provinces nationwide.
